Starting Right Now

This writing is a beginning. Like all beginnings it bears the promise of limitless possibilities and imperfections.

WHAT IF YOU KNEW SOMETHING REALLY SIMPLE THAT WOULD MAKE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT EASIER?

If I were your consultant, my advice would be to start right now. This is one of those things we refer to as a "no brainer." A real "duh" moment. After all, one fundamental improvement in how improvements themselves are made pays extraordinary dividends.

On the other hand, this sounds like change and everyone knows change is hard. Change needs careful consideration, strategy and planning, right? Maybe we should first see how it fits into all the other initiatives. That way we don't have to worry about improving something that someone else is supposed to be improving.

WHEW, THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE! DISASTER AVERTED BY DOING NOTHING. WHAT COULD BE EASIER THAN THAT?

Believe it or not, I've heard that argument made with words strung together such that they sounded almost reasonable.

Team performance is my passion. I want to make sustainable continuous improvement easier for people. Family, friends, colleagues and clients have been telling me I should be writing all this down. This is me starting right now.

If you are interested in better practice, I invite you to follow this blog and share it with others. If not, please share your critique, dashing my dreams of being well received against the sharp rocks of judgement.
